Why we do this

Our Contribution to Nepal's Startup Ecosystem

A young team shouldn't have to pay for HR software before it has revenue. So Free gives every Nepali startup of 10 or fewer employees the real basics, employee records, leave and the mobile app, at no cost and for as long as the team stays that size. Not a time-limited trial: the same product our paid customers use, just the entry step on the ladder rather than the whole platform. Getting HR and payroll right (PF, CIT, SSF, eTDS) matters just as much, and that is exactly what Essential and Business are priced to do as you grow. As you grow, we grow with you.

A real foundation, not a stripped demo

The employee directory, leave requests and approvals, and the mobile app on Free are the same product our paid customers run, not a cut-down trial. Every startup should be able to get its people basics right from day one, without paying for software before it has revenue.

No cost barrier to get started

Founders should spend on product and people, not admin software, in the first year. Free is genuinely free forever for teams of 10 or fewer: no card, no minimum commitment, no expiry.

An honest ladder as you grow

Attendance sits on Essential; payroll (PF, CIT, SSF, eTDS) and the rest of the platform sit on Business, both priced per active employee. There is no forced migration: upgrade the day you actually need them, and your data carries over untouched.

A real foundation, not a stripped demo

Free, Up to 10 Employees

What's included on the free plan below is not a stripped trial. It's the entry point onto a clear ladder: upgrade to Essential or Business when you need attendance, payroll and the rest.

Employee directory & org chart
Leave requests & approvals
Employee mobile app (iOS + Android)
No credit card, no expiry, ever

Free is the entry step, not the full platform: attendance, payroll, loans and recruitment need at least Essential or Business. What an account created above 10 employees keeps depends on when it was created; the FAQ below covers both cases. See the full plan comparison.

When you grow past 10
  • What Free keeps above 10 employees depends on when your account was created
  • Attendance, payroll, overtime and loans always need a paid plan on the new Free scope
  • No card and no deadline: move up whenever you need them
  • Past payslips and records stay viewable and exportable, on plans that already had them
  • Same account and data carry over untouched either way
  • The FAQ below covers exactly what each cohort keeps
Built in Kathmandu, for Nepal

We're a Nepali team building for Nepali businesses. When a startup here gets its people foundation right, clean records, fair leave, and compliant payroll as it grows, the whole ecosystem gets stronger. The Startup Program is our way of putting that belief into practice.

Startup Program FAQ

Questions About the Startup Program? Answered

Yes. Any registered Nepali business or startup with up to 10 active employees runs NepalHRM Free for life, subject to fair-usage limits: the employee directory, leave requests and approvals, and the mobile app. It is not a time-limited trial and there is no credit card required. Attendance and Nepal-compliant payroll (PF, CIT, SSF, eTDS) are on the Essential and Business plans, priced per active employee as you grow.

Any organization operating in Nepal with 10 employees or fewer qualifies for Free: the employee directory, leave requests and approvals, and the mobile app. There is no minimum headcount, so you can start with a single employee. When your team crosses 10 active employees, what the account keeps depends on when it was created; your data and configuration carry over untouched either way.

No. Nepal-compliant payroll (PF, CIT, SSF, eTDS, IRD-aligned tax slabs, the Bikram Sambat fiscal calendar, Nepali payslips and bank-transfer files) is on the Business and Enterprise plans. Free covers the employee directory, leave requests and approvals, and the mobile app; Essential adds attendance, salary advances and loans, and basic reports, before payroll switches on at Business.

Because a founder should not have to pay for software before there is revenue to run it on. Free gives every startup the basics, employee records, leave and the mobile app, at no cost and for as long as the team stays 10 or fewer. As you grow and need attendance, payroll or the rest, the paid plans are priced per active employee rather than a flat platform fee, so the bill grows with the business rather than ahead of it.

What an account keeps above 10 employees depends on when it was created, because we are keeping the promise already made to earlier accounts rather than changing it under them. For accounts started before this Free-plan restructuring took effect: this applies to accounts started from Ashoj 1, 2083 (17 September 2026), and accounts started earlier keep their current terms; once the 30-day trial ends, an unpaid account above 10 active employees stays on Free and keeps Core HR: employee records; attendance, including biometric devices and geo or mobile clock-in; leave, shifts and the mobile app; job descriptions, invitations, roles and permissions, and the audit log; and support, grievances, platform updates and feedback. Payroll needs at least Business, and overtime needs at least Essential. Past payslips, letters and records stay viewable and exportable, and employees can still acknowledge policies, reply to disciplinary actions and raise payslip queries; get back to 10 or fewer active employees and every feature returns, or choose a paid plan to unlock its modules. For accounts started after this Free-plan restructuring took effect, Free is the employee directory, leave requests and approvals, and the mobile app at any headcount, above 10 employees or below it: attendance, payroll, overtime, loans and every other module need at least Essential or Business. Your account, employees and settings stay exactly as they are either way, and prices stay the same.

No. The Startup Program is permanent and evergreen: teams of up to 10 employees start free and stay free, with no window to catch. NepalHRM runs seasonal campaigns from time to time, but the free plan for teams under 10 has never depended on one.

Running an incubator, an accelerator or an advisory practice that puts several startups on NepalHRM at once? That side is handled by the Certified Partner Program, which carries its own margins and onboarding support.
